The great thing is that we have a ton of awesome cool math lessons!

The bad thing is that we have so much that it can be overwhelming for someone new to the site and you might not know where to start and where to look for what you need for you or your child.

So, I've created this page to give you an overview of what we have for cool math lessons.

First of all, Coolmath (for lessons) is broken into two different websites:

Coolmath.com for ages 13 and up
(Content-wise, it's fractions and up through Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Precalculus)

Coolmath4kids.com for ages up to 12 or so
(Content-wise, it's 1+1 Arithmetic up through fractions)

We have fractions on both sites because, even though kids learn them around the 4th grade, it's the most common topic that students (even grown-ups) forget and need to review.

But, if you want more details, here's an outline of what you'll find at each website:

At Coolmath4kids:

• Addition Lessons - Cool math lesson for parents and kids to work through together, these lessons start with teaching kids what adding means and goes up through harder things like adding three-digit numbers and doing addition up in your head.
   
• Subtraction Lessons - Cool math lesson for parents and kids to work through together, these lessons start with teaching kids what subtracting means and goes up through harder things like subtracting three-digit numbers and doing subtraction up in your head.
   
• Times Tables Multiplication and Division Lessons - Cool math lessons for kids and parents to work through together, these lessons start with understanding what multiplying and dividing means and works up through harder things like long division... And, yes, kids really DO need to memorize their times tables!! 
   
• Fraction Lessons - Heck, even some of my college students were still tortured by fractions, but they don't have to feel hard.  These cool math lessons go slowly and are very easy to understand.  Start from the beginning for the best success.

At Coolmath.com:

• Pre-Algebra Lessons - These cool math lessons cover topics like fractions, decimals, negative numbers, prime and composite numbers, GCF's and LCM's, exponents and more.  These topics are about 4th grade and up till when they go into Algebra.
   
• Algebra Lessons - These cool math lessons cover most topics found in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra and Precalculus Algebra.
   
• Precalculus Lessons - The Algebra part is covered thoroughly in our Algebra area, but we have a great set of cool math Precalculus review lessons that include some Trigonometry to get students ready for Calculus.  This shows exactly how the precalculus math students learn is really used in Calculus.  One would think that they do that in Precalculus classes, but they don't do it often enough!  These lessons will make sure that a student is ready to hit the ground running on the first day of their Calculus class!

If you'll cruise around the sites, you'll also find that we have fun lessons in other cool math topics like tessellations, fractals, the geometry of crop circles and more.  When you are on each site, just look for the "lessons" link in the top navigation and that page will give you all the info you need!
